Fire Burns Resident House in Lubang Buaya

An electrical short circuit is suspected to be the trigger for the fire that broke out in a resident's house on Jalan Mundu RT 05/04, Lubang Buaya Urban Village, Cipayung, East Jakarta, Friday (8/30), at around 9 AM.

At around 35 minutes after the incident at 9.40 AM, we managed to control the situation

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) Head, Muchtar Zakaria said before the incident, the electricity in the house had gone out.

When the electricity was on, a spark occurred in one of the rooms on the second floor, then it grew bigger and spread to the surrounding area.

Two Houses Burnt in Pulogadung

"Residents were trying to put out the flames but they failed," he explained.

To control it, he deployed five fire engines and 25 firefighters to the scene.

"At around 35 minutes after the incident at 9.40 AM, we managed to control the situation," he added.

Lubang Buaya Urban Village Head, Dede Syaipullah added nine PPSU personnel were also deployed to support personnel at the location.

"To clean up fire debris, the police put the police lines there," he concluded.

His party had asked for assistance from BPBD, Social Sub-agency, and PMI to send assistance needed by its residents, especially clothing and basic necessities.
